The DB7i6, was made mostly with resources from Jaguar and had the financial backing of the Ford Motor Company. The DB7's platform is an evolution of the Jaguar XJS's; although with many changes; firstly, the proven Jaguar 3.2 Litre 24-valve in-line six engines were assembled and reworked by Tom Walkinshaw Racing to produce a massive 335bhp at 5,750rpm, which was sufficient to propel the DB7 i6 to 60 in just 5.7 seconds on its way to a claimed top speed of 165mph with an inspiring wail as the supercharger winds up. The handling inspires driver confidence as it was specially developed for British roads.
This late and very low recorded mileage example (supported by its MOT history) was first registered in October 1997; it is in splendid condition and presented in Solent Silver with Grey leather piped in Charcoal, and Charcoal carpets. This car has been treated to a Vantage Front Valance with twin driving lights, Vantage Wheels, a vented GT bonnet and a Sports Exhaust. The cost of this work would have approached £5000 and gives the car a more up to date look. However, if required we can, at modest cost, return the car to its original i6 body work and road wheels; we have the parts available to carry out this work.
The Service History shows that this car covered 21,200 miles during the first six years of its life and over that period it was serviced three times by Aston Martin main dealers, PJ Evans, Paramount and HWM. From 2005 to 2014 (nine years) the car barely covered 1,000 miles but was MOT'd every year and serviced by renowned marque expert Richard Stewart Williams of Cobham.
It is widely accepted among Classic Car commentators that the DB7 family of cars are likely to rise in value over the coming years, the shortage of supply of these cars now compared with 12 months ago underpinning this forecast; they will not be this affordable much longer.....
