An astonishing very late MG TF 135 with just one owner and 7,127 miles.
EQUIPMENT
Reinforced body structure, door side intrusion beams, tinted glass, bright sill finishers, seat belt pretensioners, fuel tank cage, high tensile tubes in A pillars, impact absorbing front and rear structures, high level brake lamp, heated glass rear screen, remote central superlocking, Thatcham Category 2 immobiliser, perimetric and volumetric alarm system, CD stereo system, heated electric door mirrors, drivers airbag, tonneau cover. Dealer accessories; Diamondbrite paint protection.
EXTERIOR
The condition of this stunning example entirely befits the amazing credentials of one owner and mileage of just 7,127. The pristine factory original paint work in desirable Pearlescent British Racing Green, (Code HFF), is virtually as new with an amazing gold fleck enhanced no doubt by the Diamondbrite protection applied when new. All panels are pin straight and the door shuts are perfect and even the boot lid is flush so often raised due to the incorrect fitting of the tonneau cover. Fastidious scrutineers will find nothing other than a minuscule mark to the front bumper. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are as new and the factory fitted woven acrylic fabric hood is perfect. The remarkable underside is beautifully clean with PDI marking still visible, and the rear wheel arches even display the factory spot welds. Originality seekers will be further delighted to see the supplying dealer number plates fitted as well as factory stickers within each door aperture. Strictly garaged from day one and used only in dry weather, this is a truly exceptional example of one of the final MG Rover built cars.
INTERIOR
The comfortable yet snug ‘Ash’ cockpit offers real sports car appeal with open top motoring enjoyment. The full black leather interior, (Code PUU), was standard fitment on the final MG Rover cars and even extends to the leather trimmed centre console lids. Having covered just 7,127 miles, the interior can only be described as new. The flawless dashboard houses fully functioning switchgear, original stereo, and the revised heater controls. The chunky leather trimmed steering wheel displays a matt finish with prominent veins found only on hyper-low mileage cars. A surprisingly large rear boot is pristine and the front compartment displays PDI dabs and all factory plates and stickers fully intact. MG museum quality in all respects.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original four cylinder 1796cc engine produces 136bhp at 6700rpm and 165Nm torque at 5000rpm enabling a top speed of 127mph and 0-60 in just 8.2 seconds. The mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration display all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driving enjoyment! The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package and actively encourages enthusiastic changes! To drive a super-low mileage and unmolested example is something many MG TF owners can now only imagine.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The rare factory fitted 15” Vee-spoke alloy wheels display the correct Silver Sparkle finish having never been refurbished and remain as new with original MG badged centre caps. The front and rear tyres of size 185/55 R15 and 205/50 R15 respectively are matching Continental Premium Contact, and the spare wheel with original Goodyear GT3 tyre is unused with tyre nobbles intact. The original jack and brace are stored in the leatherette bag. The braking system incorporates factory optional electronic anti-lock assistance and discs all round (ventilated front) to offer positive stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by main dealer SMC MG Rover of High Wycombe on the 14th September 2006, this is one of the very last examples built prior to the collapse of MG Rover on the 9th April 2005. Contained in the history file is a new car order form and subsequent sales invoice made out to the one and only keeper, Mr Michael Harnden, confirming a price paid of £13,956.82 including £199 for Diamondbrite paint protection treatment. The boxed aftercare kit is still with the car. Mr Harnden, a retired British sports car enthusiast who previously owned a Jaguar E Type, has covered just 7,127 miles dry use in this MG TF and the car was always kept in one of his garages when not in use.
The original handbook and service book are present in the plastic MG wallet and a further history folder contains invoices and every MOT since the first in 2009, proving not only the low mileage but also that the car was taken for MOT every year without fail despite the few miles being covered. A service, cambelt and water pump change was carried out in May 2019. Finally, there are two original keys with fobs and dealer keyrings. This pristine MG TF is without question one of the best preserved original examples in existence, and with just one owner and 7,127 miles is firmly in serious collector territory.
MOT May 2020, HPI Clear.
