Luxury Brokers International is pleased to offer this very nice 1958 MG A Roadster. As a fully restored example, this car is in excellent condition throughout. A completely turn-key car that presents very nicely. It was an enthusiast restoration that was thoroughly completed. Exact ownership history is not fully known prior to about 2005. The car was restored in approximately the year 2000 before being sold in 2005 to the most recent owner and was a long time Virginia based car. Following the restoration, it was always well maintained, garage kept, and cared for showing just over 13,000 miles since the restoration. While not finished in its original color combination, it shows nicely throughout and could easily be shown as-is.

Cosmetically, this car has seen a lot of restoration work. As evident by the condition throughout, and from what we have been told by the previous owner; this car was completely apart during the restoration then was re-finished inside and out. Today, it is finished in an Aqua color with black interior. The paint is in overall good condition, but is showing a few very small bubbles on the trunk but otherwise no real issues anywhere else. There are no major chips, dents or scratches anywhere else on the car. The paint has a very nice luster throughout and all body panels are straight with good panel fitment. The chrome shows well with no issues. The car has the correct grey fender welting where required, and all trim pieces and badges are present. All rubber components and seals are in excellent condition including nearly brand new tires on all five wheels. The window/cowl seal is good but does have some waviness on the driver side, very minor. The windscreen is free of any defects, as are the nearly new top and side curtains. The interior shows very well and also shows like new with no blemishes. The tachometer and speedometer, do appear to be from a period Austin Healey. Otherwise, all gauges, switches and knobs are in excellent working order with no defects, apart from the Motorola radio which does not work. Door jams show well with no chips and are very clean. The door panels are of the same quality, nearly new with no defects. The trunk shows well with a full kit installed, under which is a rust is free, nicely painted trunk floor.

Mechanically this car has been well tended to. We believe the motor to have received a complete rebuild at the time of the restoration but unfortunately cannot document this. Due to its superb running condition we know that it has been well cared for and serviced regularly since. Oil pressure consistently reads 45 pounds at idle and up to 65 pounds under load, with operating temperature never exceeding 190 degrees. Under the bonnet a Weber carburetor conversion can be found as well as a new distributer, electronic ignition, plugs and wires to bring it up to date to add some additional performance. During the engine rebuild, the transmission was also rebuilt and finished with a new clutch. The brakes work well for early MG A brakes, with the e-brake also in correct working order. It is no surprise that this MG A is in excellent condition mechanically and starts easily, runs well, drives, stops, and handles flawlessly. There are no known mechanical defects on this MG A, it could easily be enjoyed for years to come with simple service and is definitely a very reliable example.

The underside shows well overall but also shows that the car has been enjoyed. There are absolutely no issues pertaining to rust. The underside is very straight with no indications of prior accident damage. All suspension components appear to be in order with no issues in regard to any of the bushings or other components. The rockers are clean and straight, as you near to the rear of the car slight overspray on the gas tank is noticeable, but very minor.
