Monte Carlo, 1952- Stirling Moss brought his 1952 Sunbeam Talbot 90 MKII to a 2nd place finish, and later in 1955 to an outright win; a strong fact for a very unassuming car. The example on offer here lives up to these standards with ease, as a great driver with good history. This 1950 Sunbeam Talbot 90 MKI DHC, is the product of a 30 year old restoration of a long time CA black plate car. Finished today in a pale yellow over vibrant red interior, this particular example comes to us as a factory left hand drive DHC. As the only MKI known in the states, this rare opportunity offers you a lot of car for little money. With pedigree, this great weekend driver stands its ground with importance in British Motoring History.

Cosmetically, this Sunbeam reflects a nicely aged 30 year old restoration that was certainly completed to high standards when originally finished. Overall, this is a very straight example with good panel fitment throughout. All badges, emblems and chrome bits are present. The top is only two years old and is in excellent condition with great fit and finish. All glass is crack and fade free. Some of the rubber components are showing their age as is the chrome, but overall are presentable as is. The interior shows very well with no major issues to be disclosed. Clean door jams, excellent upholstery with great fit and finish, and the wood veneer are all still in excellent condition. The dash also shows well with proper knobs and switches all in working order.

Mechanically the car has seen proper servicing since the restoration over 30 years ago, never neglected this has always been a good running driving example and still is to this day. While it has seen little use in the past few months it has no trouble starting, running, driving, or braking. The engine bay is consistent with the rest of the car, and shows no issues with all of the proper tags in place. The undercarriage shows no rust issues and is very clean, as a former CA Black Plate car it was never a rusty example. It made its way to the east coast to its new enthusiast owner only 2 years ago.

All things considered, this is an excellent opportunity for any collector of enthusiast to own a very interesting early variant of the Sunbeam Talbot 90. Included in the sale are all of the original tools found neatly in the boot, owner’s manual, some service documentation, club newsletters and magazines, and some other extras as well.
