A final limited-Edition Ford Sierra Azura 1.8 with just 37,479 miles from new.

Body coloured bumpers and door mirrors, body colour rear spoiler, ‘Azur’ coachline and bodyside inserts, anti-burst high security locking, manual remote control door mirrors, heated rear window, halogen headlamps, tinted glass, front sports seats, tilt/slide screened glass sunroof, remote fuel filler and boot release, two speed plus intermittent wipe, tailgate wiper with electric wash, trip recorder, height adjust steering wheel, cigar lighter, electronic anti-theft model 2006 radio cassette, quartz analogue clock, coin tray. No Charge Factory Option; Bahama Blue Metallic paint.

This final edition Ford Sierra in limited-Edition Azura trim was released as the outgoing Sierra model was being replaced by the brand-new Mondeo. Available in Hatchback, Sapphire and Estate body shapes, there were just three paint options available, Diamond White, Moondust Silver and this example in Bahama Blue Metallic, (Code J2). Having covered a remarkably low 37,479 miles from new, this example boasts a beautiful deep shine and uniform finish certain to impress. All panels are factory fitment with uniform shut lines and no damage other than a few very small dings and light markings. Originality seekers will be pleased to see security etchings both to the factory glass and the genuine Ford light fitments and Carello headlamps. The Supplying dealer number plates remain fitted. A very rare find in such lovely condition.

The Zolda fabric trim in Winsor Blue colour scheme, (Code N5), is spotlessly clean and in excellent order with firm bolsters and bases. The matching door cards have no shrinkage or damage other than faint ‘elbow’ undulations to the driver’s side. The colour-keyed velour carpet is clean and free from wear and the neutral tone headlining is excellent. The fully intact dashboard has no cracks or distortion and all interior trim is preserved. All switchgear is functional, and the original Ford stereo radio/cassette (Model 2006) remains fitted and operational. The spotless boot area has immaculate carpeting, an undamaged circular ply-board wheel cover and all factory build stickers are intact. A very rare modern classic Ford remaining exactly as intended.

The 1.8 CVH engine develops 90bhp at 5250rpm and 147Nm of torque at 3000rpm, achieving a top speed of 107mph and 0-60mph in 11.1 seconds. Remaining in standard specification, the engine bay is clean and displays factory plates, stickers and original inner wings with Ford emblems clearly visible. A Gates cambelt label affixed to the slam panel informs you of a cambelt change in July 2019 at 37,253 miles. The five-speed synchromesh gearbox is sturdy and effortless.

The original 14” X 5½ ” alloy wheels have a few marks and are shod in matching premium brand Goodyear Efficientgrip 185/65 R14 tyres in superb order with masses of tread remaining. The spare wheel has the original Firestone F-560 tyre still fitted! The dual line servo assisted G-Valve brakes with ventilated 10.5” front discs and rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.

Supplied new by Ford Main Dealer, W H Perry Ltd in Rayleigh, on the 3rd December 1992 to first owner Mrs E Ingram. This example has covered just 37,479 miles from new and remains just as Ford intended, a celebration of the iconic Ford Sierra or as they are often more affectionately known, ‘The Jelly Mould’. The previous owner purchased the car in 2009 and has cherished it since.

The original Perrys document wallets houses all handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as three sets Ford keys. There is a further history folder containing invoices and previous MOT certificates. Guaranteed to draw much admiration at any classic car show and ready for enjoyment, this low mileage example is ready to enjoy.

MOT February 2021, HPI Clear.
