Ford Escort RS2000 (1975)

This is a genuine Northern Ireland Car, registered in June 1975 with all numbers matching and corresponding to the original logbook. The current Odometer reading on the vehicle is 12591 miles.

The vehicle was purchased in 1992. The car from then has undergone a full restoration.

This entailed a full strip down of the car back to a bare metal shell. Then the full rebuild was carried out over a period of approximately three years.

All rust was removed from the shell and all parts that had any form of rust or corrosion was replaced with new parts after which the shell was treated to a full respray inside and out by a professional body shop. When painted the body shell was then treated with an anti rust corrosion spray (Finnegan’s Waxol) giving particular attention to the underside and all crevices including the inside of the main chassis legs.

After the anti rust corrosion treatment the vehicle was then fully rebuilt from shell up to manufactures details, again all parts that required replacement was either replaced with new parts or the existing parts was refurbished to a high standard a lot of the mechanical parts was also treated with a plastic coating to provide a further anti rust treatment. Engine was also treated to a rebuild.

As from the pictures provided the vehicle could be seen to be still in very good condition, the vehicle has been stored in a garage undercover before and after any use.

The only non-original Escort MK1 RS2000 parts that was used is listed below: -

Full sports exhaust from four branch manifold back.
Full Bilstein sports suspension including springs and dampers with front roller bearing mounts.
Front brakes replaced with vented discs and calipers to suit.
Rear brakes upgraded from the standard 8” drums to larger 9” drums for better braking.

This is one of the last RS2000 to be built at the Ford AVO facility and registered in 1975.
