The 330 GTC was developed to fill a gap in Ferrari's luxury model line after 250 GT Lusso production had come to a halt. It was introduced to the public in 1966 at the Geneva Auto Show as an addition to the existing Ferrari model line. Utilizing stunning front end styling of the iconic 500 Superfast with rear styling derived from the 275 GTS, the Pininfarina designed 330 GTC possesses an almost perfect combination of timeless styling, sports car handling characteristics and luxurious interior appointments. The tubular steel chassis is nearly identical to the sporting 275 GTB and was fitted with a four-liter Colombo V12 transplanted from the 330 GT 2+2 models, mated to a 5-Speed rear transaxle via torque tube connection which provided for excellent weight distribution. The V12 produced 300hp, propelling the car to a top speed of 150 miles per hour. Braking was provided by disc brakes on all four corners and independent front and rear suspension were also utilized. Interior luxury accouterments that came standard in the 330 included power windows and generous amounts of leather upholstery. It is regarded by many enthusiasts as being one of the best driving, user-friendly Ferrari's ever built. By the time production ceased in 1968, only 598 cars were built, solidifying its place in the rich lineage of Ferrari production models as a car that was both comfortable yet compelling with high-performance.

The example on offer here, chassis number 9487 is fitted with its matching engine numbered 9487 with internal type number 2416 and is finished in attractive Rosso Rubino over Beige. Early history is forthcoming with a Marcel Massini report on order but we do know that this 330 GTC spent most, if not all, of its life in California. It was sold to a Mr. Abreu of Dublin, California on July 23rd, 1983 as indicated by a copy of the original sale's contract, reporting 70,614 KM (43,877 Miles) at the time of his acquisition. In 1985, there are two service receipts from Walnut Creek Ferrari which show Mr. Abreu having some minor issues addressed, along with a basic fluids service. The mileage at that time was 86,096 KM (53,497 Miles). The next set of service receipts are for a time period under Mr. Abreu's ownership ranging from July 12th, 2000 through March 26th, 2010 where well-known marque expert, Patrick Ottis of Berkeley California diligently maintained the car on behalf of Mr. Abreu with no expense spared. The recorded mileage in the year 2000 was 98,323 KM which increased to 99,294 KM in 2010 showing a consistent mileage record from 1983-2010 under Mr. Abreu's ownership which we believe is original. In addition to the extensive maintenance, the car received a proper bare metal, glass-out repaint by one of the best in the business; Perfect Reflections of Hayward California in the early 2000s. Along with the exterior restoration, it also received a new interior by Autos International Inc. The current owner purchased the car in 2013, commissioning Dugan Enterprises to complete a full mechanical overhaul including suspension, brakes, steering, and also tended to many small, fine-tuning items to ensure the car's show quality presentation both cosmetically and mechanically. In total, between cosmetic and mechanical restoration work, the cost amounts to over $200,000 invested in recent restoration.

Cosmetically, this 330 GTC is in show quality condition and presents as a car that was just restored. The paint has a deep consistent shine and it is clearly evident that the paint job was completed to the highest of standards. We would assume, much better than the factory standards when new. The panels are straight and the shut gaps are excellent. The paint is blemish free besides a couple extremely minor pinhead sized blemishes: one on the left side of the driver's headlight, a couple on the headlight buckets and another few minor specks under the front grill. Along with a hairline crack just forward of the driver's door. All of which are only noticed under extreme scrutiny. All of the chrome has a consistent, deep finish and has all been replated. Even the commonly skipped chrome items such as the door handles, antenna, taillight surrounds, emblems, gas cap, window trim, and windshield trim has all been re-chromed to yield a show quality finish. The optional Borrani wire wheels have also been refinished and are wrapped with new, period correct, Michelin XWX tires.

Moving on to the interior, the excellent work by Autos International is evident throughout. The seats are properly re-trimmed in correct leather and have the correct pleating with a tight, firm finish. This quality of finish is also evident in the carpeting, door panels, headliner, sun visors, dash top and rear shelf. The entirety of the interior is better than new exhibiting a tight, proper finish and even smells new. The gauges function properly, as do the radio, clock, windows, along with all interior lighting and exterior lighting. Lifting up the floor mats show the original sound deadening which furthers the honest presentation of this California car. The trunk has also been re-trimmed with correct carpeting. There was a small area of metal repair on the driver's side rear quarter, where the taillight sits, that was repaired correctly as evident in the photos of the car in bare metal. The spare Borrani wheel sits evenly in the trunk area and the original Hirschmann antenna is still in place as well.

Mechanically, this car is nearly impossible to fault. It cold starts after a few cranks and settles down to an even idle. The strong, consistent power is delivered quickly by compressing the throttle emitting a symphony of Colombo V12 sound from the Ansa exhaust. The gated shifts are smooth, unleashing what seems like endless, intoxicating power after every up shift. The disc brakes operate as they should with no fading, chattering, or pulling. Steering is sharp and responsive with the car tracking straight down the road ahead. The suspension is properly set and is not excessively soft or too firm. This 330 GTC is an absolute pleasure to drive and is certainly one of the more exhilarating driving experiences. From a cosmetic standpoint, the engine bay presents as that of a restored car with most items being correctly re-finished, coated, or plated. There are correct clamps evident throughout and even the correct type FIAMM battery was installed. Overall, it is very tidy, correct, and would fair well at any Concours and under the scrutiny of FCNA Judges. The underside also presents very well with extensive suspension and brake work evident along with a consistent, correct black finish with only hints of light use to be noted.

The Ferrari 330 GTC provides for one of the best vintage V12 grand touring experiences any enthusiast could ask for. It not only has timeless, stunning lines penned by Pininfarina, but it is also a very capable, well balanced, and performance oriented machine with the interior refinements of a Rolls Royce from the same time period. This restored, matching numbers example presents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a limited production, vintage Enzo-Era V12 Ferrari that is ready to be shown or toured in numerous prestigious events worldwide. Included in the sale are manuals, full tool kit, spare, jack, and service records.
