Aston Martin > DB2/4 MKIII
Go Back| Brighton Motorsports is excited to present this rare and exotic 1958 Aston Martin DB2/4 MKIII Tickford bodied coupe. The Dark Blue paint is in very presentable condition and has the period correct finish. The light gray leather interior is in great condition and the wood steering wheel looks great, adding a very classic look to the handsome interior. The Engine was overhauled about two years ago. It now needs to be checked because it smokes slightly. The stainless steel exhaust is new and looks great with dual pipes that look like jewelry. The transmission is precise and is a real pleasure to shift. There is a new battery and fuel pump. The brakes, clutch, steering and suspension work as expected. This DB MKIII is a very straight, completely rust free car that has not been used enough since it’s restoration a decade ago. These cars were very successful in the long distance racing events of the day. One of the reasons for those victories was Aston Martin’s multi-tube chassis with the Lagonda Bentley-designed twin-cam engine. The DB2 was the first car built under David Brown’s leadership (hence the “DB” in the model name) and this model is a DB2/4 with the ‘4’ denoting the addition of the folding rear seat for a total seating capacity of 4. Only 551 of these cars were ever built and this is a rare opportunity to acquire a great example as an investment you can enjoy – these DB’s have increased in value considerably over the last year and show no signs of slowing. |
