The work has been carried out by professional restorers Vanshack in Eynsham. Contact details can be given for more information on the bus.
Anything the van needed it had and it is ready to be used daily by anyone. I have done many a 600 mile drive in this van and have had some great holidays in it.
More details:
Chassis – incredible condition for the age of the van, little to no rust.
- the van has had some work done that was needed – small amount of repair to cab floor, inner sills replaced, battery tray replaced, and a couple of small bits tidied up here or there. But the van is incredibly solid.
Bodywork – Little to no rust, just lovely patina.
- A couple of small patches were tidied up after the chassis work was completed but the body work is excellent and not full of filler.
- Original Paint – Bar Blended sills
Engine and suspension – replaced the original engine with a strong 1500 H block. Recently had all the gaskets and all the rubber fittings changed for new. The engine has also been regularly serviced and maintained.
- The van was given a straight axle conversion on adjustable spring plates and a new gear box fitted
- The van will come with its original engine (very old with the dynamo bracket being cast into the block) and also with the original rear axle and gear box.
- The Van was lowered when given the straight axle but is able to be driven anywhere without the worry of speed bumps or pot holes
Brakes: Every component, lines, joints, rubbers fittings of the brake system were replaced as the van was a daily driver and I had planned on doing many long journeys.
Interior: The van interior is home made but done very well. It was made to suit my lifestyle so has a full size bed which takes up the entire floor when open. This was to accommodate 2 adults plus our large dog.
- The cab floor has Mad Matz sissle flooring with proper underlay
- The rear of the bus in Mad Matz Tiles on 9mm exterior marine plyboard
- Van is insulated with Celotex board and foil backed bubble wrap
Windows: All the windows had new rubbers fitted all round and do not leak
- The front has safari windows fitted and has Buttys bits seals

The vans has some lovely period extras such as:
2 ‘Courtesy’ steps on the front bumper
Original Coat hooks in side
Original interior panel coverings
Silver cigarette holder
The van will come with its original very early engine and rear axle and gearbox assembly
The van will also come with roughly a litre of body matched paint for any touch ups you want to do
I will also supply the vans car cover to protect it from the elements outside.
In short this is a superb van which needs nothing doing to it other than what you want to.
The van has an agreed insurance value of £28K
