Plymouth Sport Fury (1971)
Very reluctant sale of my pride and joy 1971 Plymouth Sport Fury.
Mint condition throughout. Just passed its MOT. I had a look underneath whilst it was on the ramp and it looks like new, with no rust or previous welding.
New Powerflo exhausts and Rocket wheels, new rear leaf spring shackle bushes, CD player and engine chrome work.
This is believed to be the only 4 door Sport Fury produced by the factory in Q5 Turquoise in 1971. I have a book of the car and previous owners addresses in the USA, so the history is well documented.
It has won countless shows in the states and I have won one and runner up in another last year.
Its a rear head turner and draws crowds wherever it goes due to its colossal size and lovely V8 exhaust sound.
The car runs faultless and I would have no problems jumping in it and driving 300 miles+. The engine was rebuilt 3 or 4 years ago and is still in fresh paint. The trans is a 727 torque flight that is very smooth and again faultless. The rear diff is very tall for cruising and is a sure grip (limited slip) type. It has a four barrel carb. I have just changed the oil and filter, plugs and air filter, so it ready to run for 12 months.
I have put in 1 bottle of MER and half a bottle of AutoGlym in to the paint work, its polished before every outing and never goes out in the wet.
It was featured in classic American magazine and the copy will be supplied with the car along with a trophy, Plaque, rosette and winners lists.
It has been in the UK about 2 years I believe, I have owned it about a year and loved ever minute of it. Unfortunately a new house means it has to go.
Its 18 foot in length and is a pillarless 4 door hard top. These are ultra rare in the country. I don’t know of another 1971 Sport Fury in this country, I do know of a couple of 1970 cars but the don’t look as good as 1971 and especially not as this is a great colour.
This car has the wow factor, so please only ring or email if your serious. I don’t have time for tyre kickers, or people offering me 3 cars in bits as a swap, like last time I sold a Yank.
Priced to sell, I was offered considerably more than the current asking price at a show last year and said no as I never dreamt I would sell the car.
Loads of spare, books, pics and info to go with the car.
