Jaguar SS100 (REPLICA) (1937)
Jaguar SS100 2.5 L reconstr.
Chassis 12988 is a beautifully executed reconstruction based on correct SS chassis (wheelbase: 2642 mm.) and evenso authentic 2663 cc SS engine.
Fabricated regardless of costs by well reputed SS100 connoisseur. Was many years part of the important collection of an aristocratic Belgian Jaguar enthusiast.
Aluminium body constructed by world renowned specialist Rod Jolley Coachbuilding with attention into the smallest details.
From the only 300 produced in total, 200 were 2,5 liter models and 100 were equipped with the 3,5 l engine.
The SS100 is considered by classic car enthusiasts as one of the ultimate collectors items. It is indeed a fact that for the prewar period the combination of the very elegant lines designed by Jaguar patron William Lyons together with the by engineer Harry Weslake intelligently upgraded Standard 6 cylinder engine resulted in a stunning sportscar. Nowadays these sought after sportscars have often been copied, as a tribute to the original thing. Sometimes in fibreglass with modern XJ engines... Not many tried to execute an accurate copy using original components, as is the case with this SS100 reproduction.
That is why for this SS100 I can state: As close as you can get to the real thing... but at 1/2 the price: 137.500 Euro
