1974 MK I Ford Escort 1300XL 4 Door Manual in Copper Brown, this car was originally bought by a convent from the Brentwood Ford dealership and spent most of its life there, until it was declared SORN in 1999 and then was sold to the next owner who has kept it dry stored for the last 7 years and was only driven out every now and again just to keep everything still working. I purchased the vehicle in November last year and have been trying to get the car back to its former glory. The car now has 12 Months MOT and is ready to be taxed and driven on the road again. As you can see by the pics the paintwork is still amazingly clean for its age and as far as I know has had no major repairs or welding needed in its life. The interior is nearly immaculate and there is a 6 hole dash and mileage shows 5795, unfortunately I have no previous paperwork i.e MOT certs to verify the mileage (as previous keepers had it SORN for last 12 years), however from looking over the whole car its seems to be genuine as the car has had only 1 bit of welding on the underside and there is very little wear and tear on the interior, so I would have to say its genuine. The car comes with the genuine Owners Handbook, a spare genuine Ford lockable petrol cap as the original does not lock and original jack and wheel brace in its bag. The car runs beautifully and has not been altered from the original factory spec in anyway. This is a genuine 4 door MK I Escort as close to factory spec.
