Rover 2-Litre (1993)

Reluctantly putting up for sale my 1993 Rover 220 Coupe Turbo which I have owned for over 10 years and in that time I have spent huge amounts of money restoring the vehicle. I am only selling as moving house soon so firstly need the extra money and also my new house does not have a garage to store the vehicle. In the past 7 years its done 1,000 miles and has been mostly SORN and sat in my garage. The mileage is now 148,400. Engine has been totally rebuilt when the mileage was 147,000. The engine rebuild included brand new Rover O series pistons and M series rods (these rods are very rare and sought after), a brand new crank and bearing shells, new oil sump, new oil pump, the cylinder head was rebuilt with piper cams and pulleys, new valves, stems seals and tappets. Gearbox has been rebuilt with steel cage bearings and I fitted a new clutch and flywheel whilst completing the engine rebuild. Alloy radiator is fitted to aid cooling efficiency, along with samco coolant hoses. Comes with brembo brake calipers to aid braking and new standard calipers on the rear. Has Goodridge brake hoses all round, new shocks and new H+R springs, new suspension/anti roll bars/bushes, internal compass integrated into the rear view mirror. I recently removed the in tank fuel pump and replaced it with a new walbro pump. Vehicle has new 17inch MG streetwise alloy wheels and new tyres all round. Interior seats are Recaro, a Sony radio is fitted with amp and sub so its got a reasonable sound system. For security has a sigma CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser. Exhaust is a Magnex full stainless system. Exhaust manifold has been helicoiled as this is a weak point on the engine, the standard exhaust manifold bolts/studs/nuts are weak and cause an exhaust gas leak, no such problem on this engine. Engine is running as standard so no nasty boost controllers or huge intercoolers fitted. I have fitted a few gauges, namely a wideband o2 sensor so that fuelling can be monitored, battery volts gauge and an oil pressure gauge, appreciate gauge are not everybody's cup of tea, the gauges can be easily removed. The mostly costly part of the restore was the bodywork, all the sills and arches are new so no rust and vehicle has had a full respray a few years ago so the paintwork is in good condition, the odd mark here and there but overall in good condition for its age. This vehicle is now very rare, especially in this condition (the vehicle is now 25 years old) there are only 100 of these vehicles taxed and on the UK roads today see www.howmanyleft.co.uk. I would not say this is a vehicle that you would drive everyday, its more of a weekend car, would definitely be more appealing to an enthusiast. As I said its been sat in my garage for the best part of 8 years with very little use (except for the yearly trip to the MOT centre) as I have been restoring it. I have however started it most weekends. Bad bits, there is a crack on the ns headlight o and due to being stored for so long it does need a good run and the paintwork needs a good clean and polish to make it gleaming again . MOT runs out 28th July, but will happily got a 12 month MOT for the buyer if a deposit is put down, the vehicle is currently SORN.
