A sought after left hand drive example in good, sound condition, looking smart in very dark blue and silver, with pale blue leather interior and blue carpets. This car was delivered new to the USA, where it spent the last 43 years with just one owner, and has just returned to the UK for the first time since its manufacture in 1960. Offered re-commissioned, braking system just refurbished, serviced, UK registered and newly MoT tested. The car drives very nicely, with a smooth, powerful engine, excellent suspension, steering, brakes, etc, and has a very competent feel on the road.

The 1st owner of LSVB277 was Samuel Rosenthal a prominent Chicago lawyer whose father-in-law, Moise Drefus had emigrated from Strasbourg to America in the 1880s where he had co-founded the Ohio Iron & Metal Company – when Moise died in March 1937 his estate was in excess of $1.25m! Samuel & Marie-Louis Rosenthal were married in August 1931 at the Dreyfus’s summer estate in Winnetka and spent their honeymoon travelling around Canada. Samuel Rosenthal’s father had emigrated to Manistique in 1895 where he became a partner in “Rosenthal & Blumrosen”, in 1898 he married Rachel Blumrosen and Samuel was born in 1899. Samuel Rosenthal served with US Army during WWI and afterwards studied law at Harvard, he joined the firm of Sonnenschien in 1926, became partner in 1937 and remained with the company until his retirement. Samuel’s clients included George Shultz (Sec of State) and Mary Pickford (actress). LSVB277 was with the Rosenthals for about 9 years before she was acquired by Dr Dale Milton Vachout an orthopaedic surgeon who would rather barter with his patients than charge them money – on one occasion he came home with a piano & another with an Indian motorcycle! Dr Vachout was the assistant physician for the ice hockey team The Chicago Blackhawks – and this included stitching up the fans when they were struck by rogue pucks!
