Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud (1962)

SALE AGREED An absolutely fabulous example of a rare and desirable car, being a genuine, left hand drive H.J. Mulliner 'adaptation' in superb and spotless condition following a full, last nut & bolt, ground up restoration. The car needs to be seen to be fully appreciated, but suffice to say it couldn’t really be any better. Beautifully finished and looking gorgeous in sand, with pale beige, (or perhaps cream describes it better) leather interior, as specified when new. Chrome-work, leather, carpets, are all new of course, and the woodwork has been perfectly re-finished. Mechanically overhauled, running wonderfully and needing nothing. The underside is as clean and smart as the rest of the car, as can be seen in some of the pictures on the 'more photos' page (click the link above). To the best of our knowledge, the car had just two owners from new until 2012, at which time it was sold upon the owner's death as a very original car, slightly tired cosmetically, having been with him for 36 years, and it is since then that the restoration has been carried out and recently completed. UK registered and MoT tested until October 2018. We challenge you to find a better one!

In 1961 Stanley Levick’s company, Royal School Laboratories of Richmond, Virginia offered some 170,000 shares of their stock for sale at a rate of $5 per share, of the monies raised some $200,000 to be used to purchase additional machinery $300,000 towards the construction of a new manufacturing plant. The company manufactured classroom cabinets for elementary schools but they specialised in purpose laboratory furniture for schools & universities throughout America including the Watertown School, Massachusetts & the University of Texas. In 1966 Stanley Levick sold 59% of the remaining shares to Crescent Petroleum Corporation of New York – whose acquisitions in America & Europe included Metalab (Laboratory equipment), Eastone Company, Inc. (alberne stone quarries) & Peerless Fabrikker of Copenhagen (producers of Loudspeakers & electronics). The second owner was William “Bill” Pettit III who worked with his father at their Chrysler dealership Pettit Brothers in Louisa County. After William Pettit II’s death his son took over not just the family firm but their Museum of Motoring Memories which had in excess of 150 cars and a collection of over 4,000 license plates! The cars featured many different and lesser known makes including Ford, Packard, Stutz, Reo, Chrysler, Raunch & Lang and a Wills Ste. Clair. Bill was a member of various car clubs including the Old Dominion Packard Club and the RROC and even found time to be VP of Shenandoah Valley Inc promoting the area in which he resided.
