SALE AGREED A project in the sense that it is engineless, this car is in other respects in very good condition. The coachwork is very sound, the paintwork is recent and very good, and the interior is correct and lovely. Under the bonnet, although the engine is missing, all of the bulkhead fittings, such as the fusebox, chassis lubrication pump, wiper motor, etc, are present and correct. The gearbox is with the car, although not in place. Steering, brakes, etc, etc, are all undisturbed, and the car can be manoeuvred around easily. If a suitable engine can be found and installed (which could perhaps be an alternative to the original, such as Rolls-Royce B60), we feel that otherwise very little will be needed for the outcome to be a very useable car, ideal - amongst other things - for wedding use. At the price we are offering the car, we feel that there is also potential for significant increase in value, resulting in a financially efficient result.

Snippets: Oakwood Hall
The first owner was Jonas Hanson (1869/1951) of Oakwood Hall in Yorkshire. Jonas started his career as a weaving over-locker and by 1903 he had his own textile mill and cloth business in Bradford. His business acumen was such in 1920 he purchased Oakwood Hall from Harold Garnett whose father Thomas Garnett had commissioned the construction of Oakwood in 1863 with the interior being designed by William Morris. The Garnett family owned local textile mills with Thomas being a director of Bradford Banking Co. Jonas Hanson was also involved in the financial world as in 1923 he was elected President of Bingley Building Society, a position he held until his retirement in 1944. After Jonas’s death in 1951 Oakwood Hall was put up for auction by his sons George & Francis.
