Gti Engineering were officially appointed to produce specially modified versions of this classic hot hatch. This example was converted from new and has a full service history. The specification is as follows:
Schwartz Black 5 Door Body, GTi Twin Headlight Grill and Grey Pin Stripes, On Board Computer, 5 Speed Gearbox, Factory Sliding Metal Sunroof, GTi Body Kit with Lower Valance, Wheel Arch Extensions and Boot Spoiler.
GTi Engineering 8v RE2000 Engine Conversion
Tuftride EN24 Crankshaft with 94.5mm stroke, Specially machined cylinder block with 82.0mm bore, Lead-indium heavy duty crankshaft bearings, Alloy autothermic pistons, Gasflowed cylinder head with enlarged port diameters, Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifolds, Reprofiled inlet and exhaust valve seats, 42mm inlet valves, 35mm exhaust valves, Sports Camshaft (276-degree period), Selected valve springs, Modified distributor, Modified injection system. This gives 152 BHP at 5,500 RPM and 158lbs/ft of torque at 4,500 RPM.

The whole interior has been re-trimmed in genuine soft hide including the door cards and dash top, GTi Engineering Steering Wheel, Dials for the Battery Voltage, Oil Temperature and Pressure, Oil Cooler, Performance Exhaust, Front Strut Brace, Lowered and Firmer Sport Spec Suspension and Gold Centred BBS 15" Alloy Wheels.
