Exceptional and original SL500, M119 326 bhp, rear seats
This is a beautiful car, mechanically excellent with everything working as well as when it left the factory, including outstanding good-as-new oil pressure. This is not surprising as the mechanicals have been meticulously and expensively repaired/ renovated over the past 5 years with comprehensive work covering the suspension, steering, brakes, drive-train, cooling system and electrics among other things. The legendary 326bhp M119 engine is muscular and silky smooth. It drives effortlessly, and it is capable of electrifying acceleration, kick-down and the exhaust is magical, musical, aural adrenalin.
The body is good and so is the cockpit. But it is a high miler (196k mile) and has a patina of use, so expect a few minor blemishes; however the car would look very good even if had only covered half the miles, which reflects the enormous amount of care the car has received over the past 5 years. The near-side front-wing has a little bubble of rust otherwise I would say the body is a near as perfect as you would want it.
It is almost original, the only things that have been changed are the radio and the speaker covers, and everything, including the air con and the heated electric seats, work perfectly. Good tyres. MOT to Jan 2019, no advisories. Service book is stamped from the day it was born and detailed repair and service history for the last 10 years.
