Fiat 1100 Camen Fiordelisi

Guglielmo Esposito, owner of "Camen" (Construction Auto Motore Esposito Napoli), was among the first in Motor History to reduce the racing engine Fiat 1100, bringing the engine capacity to 750cc, in order to get a short stroke motor with smooth and better cooled headgasket
with the increased space between the cylinders and valves.

The chassis was declared to be a Fiat 1100, while in reality the tubular frame was rather be designed at the office Camen.

Fiordelisi, a famous race driver in Italy, wanted to lose the noble CAMEN footsteps of the formal owner Francesco De Roberto.

The first change made by Pietro Fiordelisi, was replacing the front suspension with two transverse leaf springs, an upper and lower one.
In 1953 the engine Camen Fiat 750 was replaced with a Lancia Aprilia engine changed to 1100cc. Sabatino Paganelli formed this setup and the car was registered to compete just as Lancia.

1953 and 1954, while Roberto de Francesco used in those years a boat engine with tubular GILC Stanguellini twin headcams.

In 1955, again by Pietro Fiordelisi, was replaced the engine Lancia Aprilia with a new engine with Fiat parts 1100cc. tuned and provided by Stanguellini and quite improperly, the car was registered to all the competition which was participating as Fiat Stanguellini.

The current setup has still chassis Camen, the engine developed by Fiat in 1100 with Pietro Fiordelisi Stanguellini and parts of the spare stock in 1953 from the same preparation.

The car was presented for approval `ASI in September of 2001 by its owner: Vito Venina of Ragusa and shown the number of Frame N 313,945 and the number of motor N and 310,227 that a four-cylinder 1098cc. with a change to 4 gears + Reverse. The brakes are front and rear hydraulic drums, currently mounted tires front 5.50 - 15 and 165x 400 rear.

The aluminum body in red and imitation leather upholstery in black. It has been classified as type B gruppo 2.
Currently the property belongs to our member Nonaka of Tokyo, that keeping the car in Italy, participating in events like the Mille Miglia and Le Mitiche Sport a Bassano.
