The history is particularly impressive, runs to wo large box files, and includes a large quantity of invoices showing maintenance and repairs, a handbook with correct continental supplement, various correspondence, a run of old MoT certificates going back to 1985, and more besides. Snippets: Expansible Honing Tool Head
In 1959 Stephen James Chaffey filed a patent for an “expansible honing tool head” for polishing the inside wall of tubes & cones. Although Stephen Chaffey bought the car in April 1963 by October 1964 the chassis cards show that it had been sold & registered in the name of J. Elliot at his business Calder Gravel Ltd of Brighouse in Yorkshire, it would seem that Mr Elliott kept the car until the early 1970s when it was acquired by D. Wheeler Esq of Warren Street in London. Warren Street was named after Anne Warren (wife of Charles Fitzroy 1st Baron Southampton), Anne’s father was Admiral Sir P. Warren founder of Greenwich Village in New York.
