Rolls-Royce 20/25

Vehicle Price: GBP 42,500
Advert Reference Number: 13581

A very smart, spacious, clean and nicely presented saloon, enjoyed by its last owner and now ready for its next adventure! The car is in very good order mechanically, driving particularly well, with excellent steering, gearbox, etc. Since the late 1990s, when the car was restored and refurbished, the car has benefitted from a full engine overhaul, re-cored radiator, re-wire, a bare metal re-paint, re-upholstery, etc, etc. This work, amongst things, is well documented in the two files of history which accompany the car. During the 2000s, the car toured the continent, including France, Switzerland, Denmark, and Italy. As a result of all the work and attention, the car is excellent all round, ready to go, and is offered serviced & newly MoT tested.

Snippets – Who was H. Carson Andrews?
Delivered to the elusive H. Carson Andrews at Brooklands, Brockenhurst; apart from the fact that in 1962 he once had a letter published in Country Life, he is a mystery as are the subsequent names on the chassis card of G.D. Baylis & Colver MacBride – perhaps someone has some information they can share with us? By 1964 GXK15 was with Alan Morley Preston an architect & registered at his home in Altrincham. During the 1970s Alan Preston was the City Architect for Dundee Corporation & subsequently moved to “Woodhill Mains” in the village of Lindores situated on the shore of Lindores Loch. A Pictish stone dating back to the 3rd century can be found in the churchyard of Lindores & at the eastern end of the village there are traces of an ancient castle which is thought to have belonged to Macduff, the Thane of Fife – immortalised by William Shakespeare in his play MacBeth. In June 1298 just outside the village of Lindores the Battle of Black Irnsyde was fought between William Wallace & the Earl of Pembroke, with Wallace being the victor.
