Porsche 911 Turbo

Vehicle Price: GBP 119,995
Advert Reference Number: 13528

Porsche offered a "Flatnose" or "Slantnose" 930 (Flachbau) under the Special Order Program (Sonderwunschprogramm) beginning in 1981. An otherwise normal 930 with a 935-style Slantnose instead of the normal 911 front end, each unit was handcrafted by re-modelling the front wings, bumpers and bonnet. So few were built that the Slantnose units often commanded a premium price; an initial premium of up to 60 per cent (highly individualised cars even more) over the standard price was not uncommon. We understand that 948 units were built.
For the 1985 Model Year, Porsche re-introduced the 930 to the Japanese and U.S. markets and in 1986 with an emission-controlled engine producing 282 Horsepower. At the same time Porsche introduced Targa and Cabriolet variants, both of which proved popular.
Our example Cabriolet in gleaming Black (A1V9) was initially imported by University Porsche, Audi Washington DC and supplied to the market by Champion Porsche Pompano Beach, Florida on 24th February 1989. By September that year this 930 had been imported to the UK.
Acquired by its last keeper from Rivervale Porsche of Hove in November 1995 with less than 20,000 miles recorded it has been in its current ownership for the last 21 years.
We have the original Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche Cars North America showing that our example is equipped with the 282 Horsepower engine, Amplifier System, Alarm Package, CD Package, Steering Wheel with Raised Hub and Porsche Crest, Heated Sports Seats with Electric Height Adjustment, Limited Slip Differential, Powerhood, 930s Slantnose Package, Flat Front Bumpers with Louvres, Boxed Rocker Panels and Rear Brake Vents.
This car is complete with its original Book Pack in its Porsche Crested Black Leather Wallet and two sets of keys. Whilst it is fitted with a sports exhaust and steering wheel, the originals come with the car.
The Service History which is stamped in the original Service Book shows the following programme of routine servicing: Add-Speed Porsche, Horsham:; 7,025 miles September 1992; 8,922 miles September 1993; 12,605 miles September 1994; 18,075 miles September 1995. RUF Automobile GB: 21,496 miles August 1996. Jota Engineering Porsche Specialists, Crawley: 29,783 miles August 1997; 31,735 miles December 1998; 33,201 miles January 2000; 35,520 miles June 2001; 37,216 miles (undated) 40,254 miles December 2004. German Car Specialists: 40,741 miles July 2009; 41,243 miles June 2012.
Supplementary to this stamped history we have invoices on file for the following works: May 2001 at approximately 32,000 miles new Exhaust Headers and Oil Pipes by 930 Motorsport. Carrera Performance of Horsham fitted a new Battery and Alternator at 40,352 miles; provided a Service and Rear Bearings at 40,748 miles July 2009; a Service and new Bonnet and Boot Gas Struts at 41,243 miles; repairs to Spark Box and Head Lining, 41,500 miles; and replacement Regulator at 41,628 miles.
With just under 42,000 miles recorded, this is believed correct as confirmed by the previous keeper and based on the significant records of service, maintenance and accompanying MOT history. This car was in the past according to the Porsche GB Club the only one of its type in the UK however burgeoning interest in the acquisition of rare Porsche cars from the 20th Century may well have seen other examples find their way to our shores and we have established an enquiry with the Porsche Club GB on this question.
What is clear is that this is a rare and desirable car with low recorded mileage a superb history of routine maintenance and in very overall good condition. We would envisage that this 930 will provide sound capital appreciation in the coming years and without doubt very exciting 80's driving.
