Porsche 911 Carrera

In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC'. Originally power output was 180 bhp, later 188 bhp and then in 1981 it was increased to 204 bhp. The replacement for the SC series came in 1984 named 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977.
A new higher-displacement motor, a 3.2-litre horizontally opposed flat 6-cylinder, was utilised. New inlet manifold and exhaust systems were fitted. The 915 transmission was carried over from the SC series for the first three model years. This was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling with new brake, electronic and suspension technologies.
With the new engine, power was increased to 231 bhp for most markets. This version of the 911 accelerated 0 - 60 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds and had a top speed of 150 mph (242 km/h) as measured by Autocar. Three basic models were available coupe, targa and cabriolet.
Our manual coupe in Polar White was first registered on 1st January 1987 (D Reg). The Service History shows 12 service stamps to 77,000 miles in 2008. Virtually unused since its last service this car has recently been re-commissioned and had an MOT issued in October 2015 with 77,700 miles recorded.
Values of the early 911 Carrera's have plainly been on the up in recent times and in our opinion this G50 gearbox example represents a good opportunity in a pleasing colour combination
