Jaguar E-type

Recently imported from California, this car has already had a great deal of restoration work, including new body panels, rewiring, conversion to right hand drive, using a new steering rack, new heater unit, new alternator, new stainless exhaust system, new stainless wire wheels, new tyres, and much more besides. There are many new parts included, with supply invoices totalling about £18,000. Altogether, we understand that about £30,000 worth of new parts were purchased. Still as supplied, in boxes, ready to be fitted, are new bumpers, trim strips and various other chrome items, a full set of body rubbers, headlamps, rear lamps, seals, gaskets, and many more items. The engine runs well, the car can be driven around our yard, and is well on the way to completion. Having said that, there is still good deal to do, but should make a very rewarding and very worthwhile project. The original colour scheme was British Racing green with black interior and hood, and the restoration has started with this in mind. The heritage certificate shows that the car was registered in Coventry when new, UKV 959H, prior to export, and we are hoping to have that number re-instated.
