1974 TRIUMPH STAG MkII (Just 4,100 miles from new)...Originally supplied by Layton’s Garage of Deal, Kent to 2nd Baronet Sir Basil Malcolm Frazer on the 5th April 1974 for sum of £3,124.37. This RHD home market Stag was ordered in Maple with Saddle Tan trim, Soft & hard tops, Automatic transmission, Sundym glass and Cast alloy wheels. By July 1975 the Stag was returned to Layton’s for its 1st service at 1,254 miles. For the next 4 years Sir Frazer used the Stag sparingly on local journeys in and around Deal. However in 1979 with the roads becoming ever busier, he decided to give up driving. At that time the odometer read just 2,553 miles and the Stag was stored in his heated garage until being discovered in October 1990 by Classic Car specialist Nigel Loli who undertook a careful re-commissioning. RKK 789M passed to its 2nd registered keeper Mr Thatcher in August 2005 who continued the preservation of the cars originality. RKK 789M is complete with a fascinating detailed provenance including all owners book pack/manuals/Passport to service booklet, Original Layton’s purchase invoice and BMI Heritage trust certificate. Documented and featured in many publications (Telegraph Motoring, Classic Cars Magazine & Stag Owners Club Magazine). This incredible ‘time warp’ Triumph Stag has covered just 4,100 miles from new, One of the lowest mileage Stags in the World and without doubt the most original - Indeed the car has been minutely inspected by officials of the Stag Owners' Club – to firstly confirm its authenticity and secondly to use as a benchmark of originality for concours judging.
