Riley Kestrel

One of the prettiest of the prewar sports saloons with elegant low coachwork and excellent performance from a 1496c.c. twin cam engine driving through a pre-select gearbox. This example has an interesting recent history. The original chassis was replaced by Riley specialist Ian Gladstone in 1970 following a rear-end collision, using an Adelphi chassis No SS27/A/6017. The present owner acquired the car in 2001 and sent it to Ian Gladstone for anything it needed to make it suitable for long distance touring. Bills are on file showing the considerable expenditure involved but the Kestrel was little used, its stablemate a 12/4 Lynx tourer being usually chosen. Poor health has decreed that the Kestrel must go thus affording a new owner of a very well sorted car, not concours but apparently very reliable and ready to go. Reduced to £19,950
