Luxury Brokers International is proud to present this 61’ Mercedes 190SL Roadster. Delivered from the factory as a Fire Engine Red over Black leather example, this car still retains both hard and soft tops and is the product of a 10 year old driver quality restoration. Exact ownership history is not known prior to 2000. This 190 was recently acquired from an 8 year ownership whereby the car was never used, and was kept in dry climate controlled storage. The restoration appears to be about 10 years old and has held up nicely. Through thorough inspection we can conclude that the car received complete interior and exterior cosmetics, as well as an engine rebuild, the addition of Weber carburetors, new soft top, and updated running gear. Currently the car represents a very solid 2- quality car with hints of use. The exterior is overall excellent; the paint does not appear to be the original Fire Engine Red, rather a slightly lighter shade which does show well. Paint quality is excellent, there are some minor cracks and chips in a few spots, as well as a few noticeable runs on the rockers, but nothing major or needing attention. The bright work is good but is showing signs of age but is still very presentable. All trim pieces are present and in good overall condition with the exception of the tail lights, which are original and have light fading and cracking, but still very presentable and usable. The top is nearly new and is in perfect condition inside and out. All glass appears to be original and is crack/fade free with all rubber components in excellent condition throughout the car. The tires will are still in decent condition but ideally should be replaced if the car is going to be used. The engine bay reflects a driver quality car, it is very correct and clean with minor signs of usage. The trunk shows no signs of rust with both spare wheel wells and inner fenders solid and rust free. Original jack, as well as a matt and spare are present. All door/trunk/hood gaps and fitment are acceptable with the hood requiring minor adjustment to be perfectly even. The panel fit and body appears to be very straight with no signs of accident history or major panel replacement. The interior shows newer carpets, seats, and dash. All electrical items are in correct working order including clock and radio, the only item not working correctly the speedometer. There are no tears in the dash or seats, however the seat backs will need minor attention as the stitching appears to be loosening. The interior overall is in excellent condition and needs nothing. The undercarriage is completely rust free and does not show any signs of previous metal replacement and is consistent with that of a driver quality car. The car runs, drives, handles, and stops very well and needs nothing to be enjoyed. A minor service and new tires is recommended but otherwise this 190 is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition throughout. Included in the sale is a hardtop in the original fire engine red with good headliner and glass, various spare parts, multiple workshop manuals, spare, jack, and boot cover. Overall this is an excellent opportunity for any collector or enthusiast to enjoy a nicely restored 190SL that can be driven and enjoyed with very little attention.
