This rare, early Porsche 911 2-litre competition car dates back to the very first year of RHD Porsche 911 production. Chassis number 302620 was supplied new by AFN Porsche Ltd in December 1965 and was 1 of only 41 cars imported into the UK in 1965.
Chassis # 302620 was ordered new to standard specification and was originally finished in Gulf Blue with Black Leatherette and fitted with only one factory optional extra: A mono speaker!
Used predominately as a road car until the early 80s it was taken off the road and put into storage until 1995 where it was treated to a light restoration and prepared for the track. It underwent further race preparation in 2000 and received full FIA papers and Motor Sports Association log book which make it eligible for all manner of historic racing or rallying events.
In 2002 it was purchased by a discerning Porsche collector who had the car completely stripped and rebuilt over a 6 year period with a file showing invoices in excess of £80,000GBP. With just 500 miles since restoration, 302620 is in outstanding condition and with all matching numbers intact. Notably, the engine has been recently fully rebuilt to the highest standards using 906 pistons and barrels, Carello rods and bespoke cams, producing a useful increase in torque and power way over the standard 1300bhp. Its correct 901 gearbox is also been rebuilt and fitted with a short-shift gate, which together with a limited-slip differential; make this car extremely capable for fast stage and circuit use.
This very rare and genuine UK RHD Porsche 911 is currently presented in the full FIA Regs Appendix K compliant specification of a pre-1965 2-litre 911 with all the necessary safety equipment including roll cage, full harnesses, inboard fuel tank and fire extinguisher. It is eligible for such prestigious events as Classic Le Mans, Coupe des Alpes, and Tour Auto de France. Equally it could be enjoyed as a road and/or track-day car.
Offered complete with a full rebuild file, UK V5 and MOT certificate.
