A sound and correct car, rather shabby cosmetically, but appealing and sensibly priced. We sold the car ten years ago to its last owner, and it has just returned from him, following improvements that he has carried out. This work included rebuilding the rear axle, at the same time upgrading to high ratio differential, rebuilding the wheels, fitting new Blockley tyres, etc. The engine has been re-furbished, using a brand new cylinder block, new pistons, etc, and now running in, sounding good and the car is driving nicely. It was driving well even before this work! Offered serviced, prepared and MoT tested until August 2016.

Chassis No. B25EJ Reg No. AUR 190 Price £49,500

Snippets: The Two J. Inns:

Jeremiah Inns (1st owner of B25EJ) inherited a substantial amount of money from his father John Inns (a hay & straw merchant) who upon his death in 1921 left an estate worth £457,632. In 1922 Jeremiah Inns used some of this inheritance to purchase Springfield House in Stevenage. The property which dates from the late 1800s had been designed & built by the noted Stevenage historian E. V. Methold. In 1931, after 26 years of marriage Jeremiah’s 1st wife May Elizabeth (Nee Ellis) died age 51; on April the 24th, 1933 Jeremiah remarried to Helen Cadzow Walker, the eldest of 7 children (her brother James was killed in action during WWI whilst serving with the RFC). When Jeremiah died in 1945 he was buried alongside his 1st wife and their niece – Margaret May Garner (died 1937) – why they shared a grave is unknown. Like his father, Jeremiah Inns was a successful businessman with commercial interests in gravel, stone, quarries & transportation, at his death in 1945 his estate was valued in excess of £1million. He left Springfield to his widow Helen on the condition that upon her death the property would then be left to Stevenage District Council for use as a Country Hospital. He also left funds to be used for almshouses in Stevenage and in Aston.
