A late example of a rare left hand drive Cloud I, with PAS, sundym glass and air conditioning, which has spent its life initially in Florida, and then for at least 40 years with one owner in California. Being a late example, it incorporates power steering, electric windows, etc, and was built with air conditioning, Sundym glass throughout, and various extras as specified by the first owner. As a result of a kind climate, the car is fabulously sound, with an absolutely excellent, un-rusted chassis and underside that has to be seen to be believed! The coachwork too, is wonderfully sound and straight. In most peoples’ eyes, the car will need a repaint, due to fading and cracking paint, but the interior is very nice, as is the chrome work, etc. The engine bay is lovely, having been carefully re-furbished to correct, original standard. A rare and desirable car, to sought-after specification, offered serviced, prepared, UK registered and MoT tested.

Chassis No. LSKG69 Reg No. 290 UYM Price £39,500

Snippets:

The 1st owner of LSKG69 resided at Hillsboro on Pompano Beach, Florida. Hillsboro was named after the Wills Hills family, the Earl of Hillsborough was Britain’s Secretary Of State for the Colonies (1768/72) a critical period leading towards the War of Independence – The Earl was a fervent opponent of American independence! The legend of the name Pompano is that it was that Frank Sheene, a railway employee, jotted down on his survey the name of the fish that he had just eaten for his dinner! In 1906 Pompano became the southernmost settlement in Palm Beach County and saw the completion of Hillsboro Lighthouse which has 175 steps to the top of the tower containing the 9ft diameter lens. It was electrified in 1932 and at the time the 5,500,000 candle power was the strongest in the world.
