When it comes to American sports cars, there has always been one in particular that enthusiasts have adored from its genesis. The Chevrolet Corvette is an American Muscle Car staple that since its debut in 1953, has evolved into a truly impressive machine. In 2014, Chevrolet released the 7th generation Corvette Stingray (C7) which made a massive leap forward in the car's engineering, ultimately redefining what it means to own a Corvette. GM developed a brand new 6.2L LT1 V8 power plant that produced 480bhp, allowing the new Corvette to achieve 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. The most radical update however, was the exterior and interior styling. Each panel was totally redesigned, with more emphasis on aerodynamics, countless aggressive angles integrated into the body, four pentagonal taillights, and quad exhaust pipes all combined to make it an absolutely stunning automobile to look at. The interior was also completely redesigned with significant effort put towards improving functionality and the quality of finishes throughout, much to the pleasure of Corvette fans.

One year later after introducing the new Stingray, Chevrolet unveiled the Z06 variant which essentially took a standard Corvette and put it on steroids. A carbon fiber hood and roof were incorporated to save weight, larger brakes were added, and an electronic limited slip differential was included. The Z06 received the LT4 version of the 6.2L V8 which had the welcomed addition of a 1.7L Eaton TVS R1740 supercharger placed on the top of it. This allowed for the Z06 to put out some impressive numbers: 650bhp, 650ft/lbs of torque, and 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds. These are supercar numbers from an American Muscle Car that is not only fast in a straight line but can handle corners with ease as well due its double wishbone suspension and transversely mounted composite springs. The Z06 was engineered to be an absolute weapon no matter where its driven and it certainly does not disappoint.

The example on offer is a 2016 Corvette Z06, chassis number 1G1YU2D64G5609311, having traveled 3,550 from new. It is finished in Black with an Adrenaline Red interior. This Z06 was ordered new by the only and current owner who had it equipped with the following options:

-3LZ premium equipment

-Crystal Red, full-length dual racing stripe package

-Black, aluminum wheels

-Two tone, leather GT bucket seats w/black suede inserts

-Suede microfiber-wrapped upper trim package

-Custom leather wrapped instrument panel and doors

-Adjustable seats, power bolsters, power lumbar

-Ventilated seats

-Luggage, shade, and parcel net

-Premium audio surround sound system

-Performance data and video recorder with navigation

-Curb view cameras

-8-speed paddle shift, automatic transmission

-Remote vehicle start

-Power/heated door mirrors with auto dimming driver side mirror

-Auto dimming review mirror

-Memory package

This is a very well optioned example that has seen no track use and has been serviced in accordance with GM warranty protocol. It has a clean Carfax report which shows consistent mileage and no accident reports. This Z06 has seen light use and was maintained well, possessing all of its factory finishes, showing as the practically new car that it is.

Walking up to this example, one will not note any blemishes upon first glance. The black paint presents exceptionally well with a flawless shine that is stunning in the sunlight and has an even finish throughout. The red racing stripes give this Z06 a great look and are without any faults. All of the paint is original to the car, never seeing so much as a touch up. Under close inspection, the only items one will find is some curb rash on the front lip, and faint specking on the front bumper and lower portions of the rear fenders from high speed road use. Despite those minor imperfections, the remainder of the car is as it should be and resembles a very low miles car that is blemish free. Given that this example is practically new and has had no accidents, the panel fitment and gaps are as they were when it left the factory. All the rubbers, glass, chrome, and plastic components present as new and have received no abuse or mistreatment during the car's short life. The painted aluminum wheels are perfect, having no curb rash or any other noteworthy flaws. The tires are the stock Michelin Pilot Sports, which have plenty of tread life left to them.

Now the entry of these new Corvettes is a bit different than most cars as rather than the expected door handle or lever, there is a button hidden in a door cut out where you would expect the handle to be. Press the button and the door will pop open, revealing the Adrenaline Red interior. The door jams are as they were when this example left the factory, polished metal kick plates in superb condition and factory stickers present. The interior itself is finished in leather, complimented by black suede and red stitching throughout, making it feel like more of a car for an occasion than a daily driver. The Adrenaline Red leather bucket seats are in great shape, baring the Z06 logo and Corvette badge on each head rest. The side bolster on what would be the driver's right side if he were seated in the car, has developed some creases and wrinkling. Not so much from use but the seat actually appears to be slightly too wide for the car as the side bolster rests right up against the center console, causing it to be pushed in slightly. A slight miscalculation on behalf of the engineers at GM.

The central part of the dash houses many modern components including the main screen that displays, navigation, settings, radio, amongst many other applications. The leather wrapped dash has begun to show some mild wrinkling on the passenger side, perhaps from being exposed to the sun too long, but does not raise any immediate concerns as the finish is still like new and has no other faults of any degree. The gauge cluster functions without issue and this example has been equipped with colored heads-up display that shows speed, RPMs, and a G-meter. This particular feature is quite handy, especially at high speeds. All in all, like the exterior of the car, the interior has been well kept with all components operating as they are intended to.

Open up the carbon fiber hood and one is presented with a very busy but tidy engine bay. Once again, there are no significant items to address for everything is still in its correct factory condition and due to limited use in combination with a dedicated caretaker, it is very clean as well with all the factory markings and labels present. Moving to the rear of the car, the trunk has no blemishes, black liner perfect, and plastic panels free of scratches. The underside of the car is in excellent shape without a spec of rust or evidence of mistreatment, showing as a new car should.

Given that this is a car that is not even two years old, it is mechanically sound in every respect. The only maintenance items that were necessary were oil changes post engine break in. The 6.2L V8 is extremely responsive and produces a soundtrack that only a V8 can, accompanied by a high-pitched supercharger whine. This Z06 has five driving modes; weather mode, eco mode, tour mode, sport mode, and track mode, each providing different levels of ride comfort, exhaust noise, and performance. One of the nice features of these new Corvettes is the magnetic dampers that can be softened for a noticeably more comfortable ride and stiffened for aggressive cornering. The 8-speed semi-automatic transmission shifts smoothly and makes long trips as well as traffic jams less burdening. The Z06 has all the elements to have any enthusiast smile from ear to ear while offering the comfort and amenities of a modern sports car. It is this duality that allows the Z06 to be a truly fantastic daily driver if one should choose to.

The modern machinery the automotive world has to offer has reached a truly astonishing level. Every day, the technology and engineering that goes into manufacturing high performance road cars becomes increasingly more astounding. Traction control systems have become more refined, electric assisted engines are becoming more common, and active aerodynamics seem to allow drivers to defy physics. However, cars that pack that kind of technology usually come with a hefty price tag, so for the car guy that wants a serious sports car but does not want to spend $100k plus, where do you turn? This is where the value of the Corvette Z06 really becomes apparent, as it will put out competitive track times with cars that cost twice as much but can also be used every day on the street. At the price point and performance level, it is a challenging car to top. This example, having low miles, a desirable color combination, numerous options, coupled with its pristine condition, make it a serious contender for impeccable value sports cars. Offered with the sale are the books, window sticker, original purchase documents, car cover, and spare key fob.
