A sound, clean, tidy and correct example, running well, and driving very nicely. Attractively finished in an appealing, understated shade of warm grey, complimented by good chrome plating with excellent grey leather upholstery and blue carpets. Mechanically very good, used recently for Continental touring and consequently ideal for continued use of this type. We like to emphasise how we feel about MK VIs being very useable cars in the modern world, keeping up well with current traffic conditions when needed, but at the same time having character and being enjoyable to drive. Enhancing this quality still further, the car is fitted with flashing indicators as well as the original trafficators, inertia reel seat belts front and rear, and a very suitable set of Michelin radial tyres, transforming the road holding. Offered serviced and MoT tested until January 2019.

Snippets: Engineer, Stockbroker & a Dentist
Leonard Pelham Lee purchased B331LH the year that his firm Coventry Climax Engines Ltd was made public. The company’s roots date back to 1903 when H Pelham Lee & Jens Stroyer formed “Lee, Stroyer Company making engines and motor-cars, after a few years due to the capital required for motorcars they concentrated on engines & in 1914 the firm supplied engines for the tractors used by Sir Ernest Shackleton in his Antarctic Expedition. Stroyer & Lee eventually parted ways and in 1917 Coventry Climax Engines was formed by H. Pelham Lee with his son Leonard joining the firm in 1919 when he was just 16. During their existence the firm supplied engines for the Godiva fire pumps in WWII, engines for forklifts, engines for use in Grand Prix racing and the Armstrong Whitworth supercharged H30 multi-fuel engine for the military used in tanks and aircraft missile systems. In 1954 Leonard sold B331LH to a retired Stockbroker with the unusual name of Hubert Herbert Creemer Blake (1893/1983), during the 1920s Hubert Blake wrote several books – Currency & Credit Before & Since 1914 (1923) and World Disorder & Reconstruction: an epitome of the economic situation. By 1960 B331LH was with Bryan Walter Lydgate Luke LDS who after qualifying as a dentist in 1943 joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve as a Temporary Surgeon Lieutenant, once peace was established he went to Leeds University and in 1948 he qualified as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.CH.D).
