The DB7i6, was made mostly with resources from Jaguar and had the financial backing of the Ford Motor Company. The DB7's platform is an evolution of the Jaguar XJS's; although with many changes; firstly, the proven Jaguar 3.2 Litre 24-valve in-line six displaces were assembled and reworked by Tom Walkinshaw Racing to produces a massive 335bhp at 5,750rpm, sufficient to propel the DB7 i6 to 60 in just 5.7 seconds on its way to a claimed top speed of 165mph. With an inspiring wail as the supercharger winds up the handling inspires driver confidence as it was specially developed for British roads.
First registered on 3rd January 1997 and presented in Grampian Green with Cream Hide piped in Green and matched to contrasting but very subtle Olive Green and Dark Green Dashboard Top-Roll and Door Cards this particular example which is in really extraordinarily good condition has just 46,000 miles recorded. Although there are three owners recorded the last keeper owned this car for 14 years and prior to that the second keeper a business entity (understood to be a high end Gentleman’s clothing manufacturer) owned the car for just six weeks.
Following its Pre-delivery Inspection by the supplying Dealer HWM of Walton on Thames the first keeper had the car serviced exclusively by Stratstone Aston Martin of London who executed seven services between 1997 and 2001 by which time the car had covered just 18,600 miles. Aston Martin of Mayfair then looked after the car for the most recent keeper performing four services between 2002 and 2004 (to 29,400 miles). From 2005 to date and in the care of the same keeper the car has been serviced annually by the same Specialist Garage.
It is widely accepted among Classic Car commentators that the DB7 family of cars are likely to rise in value over the coming years, the shortage of supply of these cars now compared with 12 months ago underpinning this forecast; they will not be this affordable much longer
